INTRODUCING ALICE LANCASTER
I’m originally form St. Louis Missouri but I’ve lived in Chicago since 2007. It feels pretty good to live here between the months of May-September. I’m 25. I’ve been taking photos and making albums since I was a kid. I guess you could say I starting taking it seriously a couple of years ago. When I was younger my main reason for it was memories. I like the security of having my life in photos in case I end up getting Alzheimer’s and I have no idea who anyone is or what my life was like. That sounds kind of dark doesn’t it? All I want to do is take photos of the people I love or thing that I find beautiful. Plain and simple. I think that since I’ve started taking photos (seriously) I am more inspired to go to places I wouldn’t normally go just for the opportunity to get some good pictures out of the experience. And what I value most in the end is the experience. I use a Yashica Microtec that my boyfriend gave to me for my birthday. This picture is of my friend Allison. We discovered a hill in Chicago this summer (very rare). So four of my friends and I went there to hangout. It was a really hot day and Allison asked if she could change into a pair of shorts I had brought with me. I took this photo during her minor struggle to get the shorts on.
