I was born and raised in Baltimore City, Maryland USA. It feels like every other forgotten place. I’m twenty-two now. My first conception with what a camera meant to me was when I was 15 years old. I would use those throw away disposable cameras my grandparents gave me. I don’t know if there was a definitive purpose that “made” me per se. It was more of an sudden self urge, an obsession even, that I continue to direct as a useful skill (hopefully). I’d like to have a career in photography. I don’t know if my work right now appropriately expresses that. There are a lot of things I would like to achieve with what I am doing. My life would have been completely routine if I did not cave in towards the life of an artist. Taking photos enables me access places that I normally would not appreciate alone. The camera is my angel. Also, I would have never met my girlfriend Melissa, who continues to put up with me. I wish it start paying the goddamn bills though. It will in due time. I am really interested with this modified tiny self timer camera that are basically those cheap key chain cameras found at Rite Aid. That and 3D technology, but that’s a long story right now. This is a picture I took of my friend Joe Skilton sitting on the curb drinking a slurpie from 7-11. When I asked him what flavor he got he replied “I got one of every flavor” in his Scottish accent, which killed me. Melissa and I use that line in our daily lives. Also, if anyone has contact with Joseph tell him we said hi and to email me. Don’t run from the reaper Joe! As of right now all of Daniel Shea’s work, methods, and motives continue to be heavy influence on me and I will continue to bug this shit out of him via email with endless questions. I keep looking at John Divola’s work as well. Whitney Hubbs new series “Day for Night” is really great too.
